This past week we had the Halo 3 2v2 event which put duos against one another. This event has less action than previous events so there were a lot of byes and forfeits, but that still didn’t make winning the gold medal any easier. The 9th Player, Tied The Leader, and PraetoriaGuard all put up great matches, and with that, here are this event’s winners:

Fragolympics Leaderboards:

This week we wrap up two events in our Fragolympic adventure. The Guitar Hero 3 1v1 challenge and the Halo 3 FFA All Night Snipers. The all night sniper match lasted 8 hours starting from Saturday night going into the wee hours of Sunday. I heard there were many cramped hands, and a few people who couldn’t handle it to the end, but overall, people had a good time. After 8 hours of sniping, the gold medal came down to a difference of 4 points! We did something a little different for the sniper match, giving out bonus points for headshots, killing sprees, and sticks which made it an interesting match. With that, I would like to present the medals to the winners of the Halo 3 FFA All Night Sniper Match:

Up next, we have the results of the Guitar Hero 3 event. 9 guitarists battled it out, but only one came out as the true guitar hero. There were many close matches throughout the event, but the guitarist who knew how to use their star power wisely seemed to come out ahead. Check out bs angel’s blog entry about her guitar hero match to see just how close these matches really were.

Two players flew through the brackets losing only one song between them before meeting up to face off against each other in the finals. Here is a screen of the final match, played on expert:

Fragolympics Leaderboards:

It’s the beginning of a new week and we have the results of the Halo 3 4v4 event for our Fragolympics tournament. 11 teams entered, but only 1 came out on top. There were many good matches especially between Tied the Leader and SBG Gaming, having to go to a tie breaker game to see which team moved on to the semi-finals. Loading Reality and Army of the Republic had an early first round match that was very close. There was also Buddy System Gaming who did not receive a bye in any round but still made it all the way to the finals. And of course the competitive teams of Podtacular and PraetoriaGuard meeting up in the semi-finals made for a great match up. This event was very exciting to watch and I would like to thank all the teams for participating. With that said… I would like to hand out the medals to our winners for our Halo 3 4v4 event:

Congratulations to our winners!! You three have taken the earlier lead in the Fragolympics but it is still anyone’s tournament. We still have 6 events left to play in the next few weeks. PraetoriaGuard has posted a write up of their semi-final match against Podtacular and should be posting another write up of the final match against Buddy System Gaming, go check it out. This week, we shift gears and have a guitar battle with this week’s event taking place on Guitar Hero 3. We are also doing the Sniper All Nighter match on Saturday. This week we begin our first Fragolympics tournament which consists of 12 invited gaming communities, battling it out in 7 events for the next six weeks. Each week, a new event will be played to find out which communities will be awarded a Fragolympic medal.
