Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded and are given a point value of 3 points for Gold, 2 points for Silver, and 1 point for Bronze. The overall Fragolympics community winner is determined who has the most medal points at the end of the Fragolympics!

Scheduled Events
Halo 3 4v4
Halo 3 2v2
Halo 3 FFA
Halo 3 FFA all night snipers
Rock band 4v4
Guitar Hero 3 1v1
Call of Duty 4 6v6

Halo 3 4v4 - Rules & Format

8 team limit, 1 team per community

Teams will be randomly seeded. Each match will consist of a best of 3 series. Two team slayer games and one objective game will be played. The final match will consist of 5 games. Three team slayer games and two objective games will be played. Teams move on once they win 2 games (3 games in the final). Losers of the semi-final matches will also play a 5 game series to determine 3rd place.

Halo 3 2v2 - Rules & Format

8 team limit, 1 team per community

Teams will be randomly seeded. Each match will consist of a best of 3 series. Two team slayer games and one objective game will be played. The final match will consist of 5 games. Three team slayer games and two objective games will be played. Teams move on once they win 2 games (3 games in the final to win). Losers of the semi-final matches will also play a 5 game series to determine 3rd place.

Halo 3 FFA - Rules & Format

24 player limit, 3 players per community

Players will be randomly seeded, except players from the same community will not be placed in the same party in the first round. For the first round, there will be 4 parties of 6 players each. The top 3 players move on to the next round. The final party will have 6 players and will determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Parties will play a 3 slayer game series of 8 minute limits on different maps. The total score of all 3 games determines placing.

Example of scoring:

Game 1 - Slayer on The Pit - 18 kills
Game 2 - Slayer on Guardian - 21 kills
Game 3 Slayer on Narrows - 12 kills

Final Score - 51 kills

In the event of a tie, the player with the least deaths wins. If the number of deaths is the same, number of assists is the next criteria.

Halo 3 FFA all night sniper match - Rules & Format

16 player limit, 2 players per community

This match will be played as one sniper game on one map for the entire night. The top 3 players with the most kills at the end of the match will be awarded the medals. This is an endurance event.

Rock Band 4v4 - Rules & Format

8 band limit, 1 band per community

Bands will be randomly seeded. Each match will consist of a best of 5 song series. Each band will choose two songs, and the 5th song will be randomly chosen by me (ahead of time so you know what song it is before making your song selections). Bands must be complete and you are allowed to “borrow” players from other communities if you do not have enough players to create a full band. Since you cannot play band vs. band online, you will have an opportunity to score the highest possible points on each song before the round deadline. Difficulty levels are up to the band members. The cumulative point total of all 5 songs determines which band is the winner and moves on to the next round. The final match will consist of 7 songs. Each band will choose 3 songs, and 1 song will be randomly chosen by me. The losers of the semi-final match will also play a 7 games series to determine 3rd place.

Guitar Hero 1v1 - Rules & Format

8 guitarist limit, 1 guitarist per community

Guitarists will be randomly seeded. Each match will consist of 5 songs, 2 chosen by each guitarist, 1 song randomly chosen by me. Guitarists will meet online and create a pro face-off private match. First round will play on medium, 2nd round on hard, finals on expert. Whichever player wins 3 songs first is the winner and moves on to the next round. The final match will consist of 7 songs, 2 songs chosen by each guitarist, 1 song randomly chosen by me. The losers of the semi-final match will also play a 7 song series to determine 3rd place.

Call of Duty 4 6v6 - Rules & Format

8 team limit, 1 team per community

Losers of the semi-final matches will also play a 5 game series to determine 3rd place.

Congratulations to Shiner Chick for being May’s Cavegirl of the month! She was choosen for her outstanding organization and activity as the captain of the Rec Team - Cortana’s Daughters. They have been doing lots of challenges lately, and I thought we would highlight their captain for May. Not only that, she is also an alternate for the Pro Team, and I hear she is a fantastic cook! If you would like to challenge The Rec team, head on over to our forums and put in a request. Now, on to the interview!

Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where are you from, what do you do?
My name is Rebecca, but everyone calls me Becca. I’m 24. I was born and raised in Houston, Tx but currently live in Austin, Tx. I just recently graduated from Texas Culinary Academy with an assocites degree in the Culinary Arts. I am working at the University of Texas as a prep cook.

How did you find out about the Cavegirls?
My boyfriend was browsing bungie.net and noticed something about the FLAG tournment and we entered it.

How long have you been with the Cavegirls?
Not too long actually. January of 2008.

How did you get started into gaming?
I had an NES when i was growing up. So I grew up on mario.

Why do you like playing games?
I love to sit back and relax with a great group of friends.

What are some of your favorite games, and what are you currently playing?
I love Halo, Oblivion, COD4 for the Xbox.
I love Pikimin 1&2 for the Game Cube.
Currently I am just playing a lot of Halo.

What has been your favorite Cavegirl event or moment so far?
Ladies Night is my favorite event. And I am even more exited to be hosting it for awhile.

You are the Rec Team captain, can you tell us a little more about the team?
I have a great team. We practice once a week and that is always a blast. My team is made up of Dallavalamp, BeatrixKiddo23, lovegoddess, Calliope. Betty Skeddi and Liz Jade are alternates for the team. We play challenges and Halo or COD4 and have been getting alot of challengs. We have done 2 so far giving us a 1-1 record. I am very honored to be captian of an awesome team

When not gaming, what do you enjoy doing? Do you have other hobbies?
Cooking. I cook all the time. I also love all the girly hobbies, hunting, fishing, scuba diving..lol

Favorite music?
Country all the way.

Tell us something weird or unusual about yourself. Do have a special talent?
I’m kinda strange to start with..lol I guess my special talent would have to be my cooking. I use to be horrible at it too but now I am really good at it.

What is your greatest Halo 3 accomplishment so far?
hmmm…thats a tough one. I guess the other day I was playing I think it was multi flag on Avalanche. I was sniping and I sniped the gunner out of the warthog. They were fliping over and moving behind something so i could barley see them. I generally can’t hit anyone in the warthog while i am sniping so I was proud of myself.

Do you have a favorite or funny screenshot to share?

Eek took this one. We were playing rocket race and I was on the back. I hit a fusion core and we went flying super high.

If you were stranded on a deserted island, what 5 items would you want with you?
Bed, Xbox360, Halo 3, Tv, Ipod

This marks the start of Cortana’s Daughters (CG’s) first official Recreational Challenge to the Loading Reality Core (LRC). It was a fast paced game and loads of fun! LRC came out with a strong start and captured C and B right off the bat, however the CG’s weren’t far behind to take B away from them. As the game progressed A and C swapped hands many times while B was mostly controlled by the CG’s. Lovegoddess and Beatrixkiddo23 both called in Airstrikes this match and Mindless had one heck of a spot at A to constantly kill us with. The CG’s demonstrated AWESOME team work and while LRC put up a good fight, the CG’s won this round 200 to 143.

Unfortunately, the picture that I took of this is so blurry I can not see the individual scores, other than to see the final score, it appears that LRC’s team all individually scored in the 200 range and I have not a clue what the CG’s scored because of the glare. Other than that… heres how the game went. CG’s controlled this game pretty well capturing territories quick and holding them for most of the allotted time. LRC threw lots of Flash grenades our way and Dallavalamp serenaded us with a stunning rendition of “Blinded by the Light”. Primal was brutal with her Martyrdom and the CG’s sense of direction on this map leaves little to be, not to mention LRC was killing us through walls A LOT!!!! However, the CG’s pulled off the win 200 to 70.

OK well… bad news on this one is I can’t even see the score… LOL my picture taking of the TV skills are apparently lacking… its super hard to take a picture of the TV screen so quick!!! That’s one of the downfalls of COD4 that there is no way to go back a check everything. Anyway… the only thing I know for sure is that LRC kicked our butts!!! I don’t really have much to report on the CG’s side but let me tell you a little about the LRC team; First off… Strunky is the C4 CHAMP! That man is C4 crazy!!! Signal was a fragging fool, Mindless was a “Peeping Tom” lurking and shooting us through windows and Miss Primal (cough cough trader cough cough) called in at least one Airstrike and an Arnold (Helicopter). Awesome victory LRC!!!

Man my picture on this one didn’t turn out either!!! From what I see…. It looks like the score might have been 750 to 680 which is just a matter of a 7 kill difference. Strunky was responsible for this game type and I have to say, we all had a blast!! Since COD4 does not have friendly fire on in about 95% of their game times they have this Hardcore option where friendly fire is on and where you literally have NOTHING to go on! No radar (unless earned), no score, no record of your bullets or grenades!! It was a challenge to keep up with everything but that’s what made it so much fun!!! Dallavalamp was our Queen of the UAB (radar) while PrimalFear622 was able to give her team the most support in that area. SignalGhost called in an Airstrike for LRC and Shiner Chick called in an Airstrike for the CG’s, although… I think she killed Dallavalamp in the process HAHA. So Cavegirls win this one, but we just barely squeaked it out!

WOO HOO I got another useable picture!! LRC pretty much lead this entire game, they were all on point and it showed. Again… Strunky was in full force with his C4 and somehow Shiner Chick and Lizzjadie kept getting caught up in the mix!! MindlessFear917 was a shanking fool, not to mention he must have Noob Tubed Dallavalamp at least half of his kills! So after all 5 games, MindlessFear917 has a new nick name “Peeping Tom Noob Tubing Shanker” HA! Anyway, PrimalFear622 was holding things down with the building mounted machine guns and was totally mowing down the CG’s one by one. The CG’s held there own but it was not enough to come out with a win, Loading Reality Core wins another great match. As a side note, I think that Softchew was in like stealth mode the entire time!!! And MindlessFear917 likes to play on the “sand maps”. HAHAHA

Overall I believe that our first Rec Team Challenge as Cortana’s Daughters was a HUGE success!!! We absolutely could not have played against a better group of people who we all know and love!! Loading Reality is an awesome community and their members are fantastic!! Please visit their site at www.loadingreality.com.

Our next challenge is Sunday March 30, 2008 against the guys of AoR Veracity, it will be a Halo 3 challenge so we can count on reliable pictures for this one.

Congratulations to Dallavalamp for being April's Cavegirl of the month. She was selected for her organizing of ladies nights, suggestions, and leadership within the clan. We are very proud to have her a part of The Cavegirls and hope she brings even more positiveness to the clan. With that said, we wanted to get to know our Lava a little better, so we asked her some questions. We encourage you to ask her questions yourself in the comments or forums. Congratulations again, and now on to the questions!

Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where are you from, what do you do?
I was born in Massachusetts and moved to Texas when I was 7 where I grew up in Corpus Christi – the city by the bay. Yes, that’s the city’s motto. Went to University of Texas (Hook “em Horns!) and graduated with a degree in Advertising. Did the advertising thing for a bit and didn’t like it very much. Decided to go into sales at Apple in 1996. I’ve been here ever since – with a variety of jobs from sales person answering incoming calls to a manager to a project manager (which I am now). Good thing too cuz I met my hubby here. We celebrate our 7 year anniversary on April 7th.

How did you find out about the Cavegirls?
I played in a random match with Girlwolfie on Ascension playing Capture the Flag . She told me about the group and then I met up with Cayote and some other girls. Thanks Sarah!

How long have you been with the Cavegirls?
A little over a year

How did you get started into gaming?
I’ve been gaming since I was about 12 or 13. I used to go to arcades to pass the time and got really good at Moon Patrol and Ms. Pac-man. In high school, my two best girlfriends and I (shout out to Mereduff and Hopey) played Super Mario Bros pretty much every weekend. Once in college, Hope and I would go to the arcade right by campus to relieve stress and spent about 6 hours at a time playing Streetfighter 2. I was E. Honda. Why I don’t know – that dude was NOT nimble, but he had the hiya karate chop. Then, after college, I would play various things on the Playstation, Playstation 2, XBOX, Nintendo and then finally the 360.

Just the other day in a Ranked Big Team game, I jumped over an incoming Warthog, stuck the windshield, it blew up and right after I leap frogged the about-to-explode Warthog. I have the film saved, I just need to save that clip. But I would say in total, it’s generally my grenade abilities. I would prefer to use a sticky or spike grenade as my primary weapon. I can launch them pretty far. If you look in my file share, you will see a great series of 3 screenshots. I launch a grenade on The Pit, running out of the invis corridor. I hit the players foot who was hiding under the sniper/turret spawn. That was awesome!

I like this one – it looks like I’m being chased by a giant fireball.

That is all the questions we have! Now it's your turn to ask the questions.

Welcome to the launch of The Cavegirls website! It has been over 3 years since we were founded on Bungie.net and we now finally have a permanent home on the web. It is still a work in progress but most of the content has been uploaded and it just needs formatting fixes. I would like to give a huge HUGE thank you to Ramvere who helped me set up this website, design lots of the graphics, and helped with the coding. I couldn’t have done it without him. There are still tweaks to be fixed, and probably errors in some places. If you have any suggestions or ideas for the website, please feel free to share them! I was too excited about this to not share with you all before it was 100% completed.

Just WHO is this person with the awesome sig? Let’s welcome out to the stage (which is trimmed in 24K accents)…DELTA..come on out!!!!!

DELTA: Thank you thank you everyone.

BRIG: Welcome Delta, it’s great to have you on the show. Now to begin… Just WHO is Teh Delta?

DELTA: Alright, my real last name is Flaminio. Its pretty cool cause in Italy we have a soccer stadium named, Flaminio Soccer stadium For some odd reason our last name is pretty special. I found that our great ancestors (212 B.C.!!!!) was a consul of Rome. That means he ruled the either government or the army. In 212 B.C. He was slayed by Hannibal the Carthaginian general. Moving on, I’m 15 as of September, i was a little lazy on getting a permit and didn’t get it until october 20th. I live in Florida, where its hot and muggy most of the year. I was born in Montgomery Alabama…and…. I’m in the 9th grade, a freshie, fish, freshmeat, what ever. My friends call me Flamingo, because Flaminio/Flamingo they’re pretty close. Basically i’m a normal student, school at day party at night. I love playing with friends online, Halo 3 is all i really have. I love going to beaches. Anything you dish out I’m up for.

BRIG: What was your first gaming system? First games?

DELTA: ummmm…. If i had to say what one i think it would be…The super old gameboy B&W, or the color Game boy. I can’t remember but i think i saw someone playing on the B&W and wanted one but got a color. But it was defiantly a Game boy. Pokemon for teh win. Red version, played my little heart out =) lol

BRIG: Tell me about your experience with the Halo 3 launch..

DELTA: I was dying for Halo 3 after the second month of the H2 release. But when i heard of the wait i about near cried. I was going to campout…No i WAS camping out for like twenty minutes when one of my friends called me up and told me that the other store down the road was selling them early.(it was only like 7:00) So i jumped over there got the game went home and played for 3 hours and laughed at my other friends telling them that i was already beating the game.

BRIG: So did you pick up on the Halo games at H2?

DELTA: yup A late bloomer

BRIG: Have you played Halo 1 yet?

DELTA: ohhh yeah beat it on legendary and had a LAN party at my friends. 8V8

BRIG: wooohoo
You have done alot of wonderful Memorials on H3. What drives you to do this? Do you have friends/family in the military (or past)?

DELTA: I have 1 cousin in it. But thats not really what propels me to do those memorials. I do it because of the way some people act in this country. They saw our leaders are stupid and trash talk them and it makes me go bezerk. I mean how hard have our past leaders, and men and women worked to get us to this point. All so we can complain, and destroy that work. And who would protect us from the Terrorist if our men and women weren’t over their right now fighting for us. It be flippin Battleground America. I wonder what they would say about that? It would be along the lines of “why weren’t they over their fighting for us”? The nerve people show sometimes. In OUR OWN DAMN COUNTRY!!!!!! (pardon my French). Its just to show that i support our country and leaders, and the men and women serving our country and want to help in anyway i can.

BRIG: that is so great….really…I am happy there are gamers like you in xbl land

DELTA: lol thanks it means alot

BRIG: If someone walked into your room and looked around, they would say, “Man, he sure loves ……”

DELTA: The Beach & Lights. (My walls are painted baby sky blue, and my accent is a sunshine yellow. Not to bright but just bright enough to light up the room. I also have surfboards and surf shack miniatures. empty rum bottles…all that beachy stuff. My entrance has blue see through waves hanging down.) . I have ever type of light you can imagine, Black, the electric touch kind, 3 lava lamps, the little light behind a rotating sheet of plastic, a Vegas Bright sign on the wall, a Huge ACE of spades card with two halogen light tubes behind it… Everything you can imagine. But not enough to make you blind. Just enough to make you say “woah thats pretty awesome”!

BRIG: Do you surf? What are you favorite beach activities?

DELTA: um i don’t surf, but i don’t really want to it looks way dangerous. Plus i’d hate to drown. But i do play at the beach build HUGE!!! holes in the ground and make a city in them. Body surf, releaxe and hang with my friends while we watch the sun set, walk at night and listen to the waves on the beach and run around. Anything and everything i’ll do it and most likely enjoy. I mean what can i say….I’m an extremely outgoing person.

BRIG: If you were able to do ONE marine voice clip for Halo 3– what would you say..and what type of situation would select it to play?

DELTA: ummmm… this is tough. One would suit a situation that he’s in the med bays on the storm. “Man i fought off Halo, helped the MC get his metal ass back here, to crash land on Earth open the escape door and fall of a cliff!”

BRIG: Okay..if you could redesign the “teabag”…what would the MC (or Elite) do over a dead body in MM? (ex. he would tap dance and yodel)

DELTA: ummm…. I’d have top say either poke him in the face plate, slap him in the face or…. Eat his face off with the Elite mandibles

BRIG: eww..lol. What is your most prized Halo 3 Achievement?

DELTA: Defiantly the 2 for 1!!!!! I got it when a mongoose passed a guy and one guy jumped on back to melee the driver off. I hit the mongoose while they were both on and had to change my pants a couple of seconds later (lol jk) But i stood as my jaw dropped and said “Are you kidding me” i thought i was going to have to play for years to get that 1 achievment.

BRIG: Tell me about your clan.

DELTA: ummmm……its called The Venerated Elite Heres the main website link Venerated Elitep and heres the actual Forum TVE Forums and i started it as a Machinima clan. Also to keep better relations with my friends if my 360 is ever broken, or away. It also allowed for easier communication for tournaments and stuff. Its kinda dead but School has been so hectic i can never get around to it. Starting Tuesday I’m planning to clean it up and reopen the page for new users.

BRIG: how long has the clan been around and how many members…?

DELTA: uhhhhh its extremely new only about a month with about 27+ members. I need some help and by placing it in the off topic…other websites..stuff…oh the classifieds that i could get some people to help work it with me.

BRIG: What age range are your members?

DELTA: umm i know about 3 that are mature enough. The rest….lets just say I’d hate to join one of the CG parties with them…>.<

BRIG: If you could have halo babies with any one Cavegirl who would it be?!

DELTA: ummmm…..lol i had to laugh cause i knew it was coming…Ummmmmmm…. let me think i don’t know a lot of people. Let me state it this way i know a lot of people but i’m still under the water and they don’t know me. BouneJ, You, and Hellcat, Cayote, the DJ and…….sorry if i’m leaving anyone out.
Well i don’t think i need much of an intro as most of you know him already.. and well if you don’t you should because he is one of the best people around especially to game with!

But i wanted to get to know more about Strunky so i sent a few questions his way…

Who is Strunky? And what do you do in real life?!

My real name is Steve but folks have been calling me Strunky or just Strunk for years. It’s a play on my last name actually. I’m not sure why but it gets me a lot of attention during online play. By attention I mean people screaming my name after they kill me and teabag my dead body. Even people I’ve never met seem to enjoy yelling out my name after they’ve killed me. It’s kind of funny really. I don’t understand it but I suppose I don’t need to, I enjoy it none the less.

I’m a SciFi nut. I find anything Star Wars related to be instantly interesting. I’m a lego maniac and comic fiend. Yes, yes, I know, I scream geek but so be it. We all love our inner geek.

In real life I work in the insurance industry. My family has a small brokerage down in Florida. We set up shop here in August of 2000 after moving from Washington D.C. My father and I started all this back in 1995-96 and it’s been going strong ever since.

So.. does this mean if i don’t switch to geico i can still save money?!

How did you get into the gaming world?

I got into the gaming world when I got my first console system way back in 1984. Most people my age instantly think Atari but no, I was an Intellivision kid. Once it broke though, that was it until about 1989 when I got my first Nintendo. That little box lasted forever too. I eventually moved on to Playstation and then on to Xbox where I’ve found the perfect blend of community and gaming. I originally bought my Xbox only to play Halo. It was the only game I owned for a long time but then came Star Wars: Battlefront and this is the game that really started the ball rolling and led me to where I am now. That’s where I first met bsangel (Sheahem back then), Sinistersixx and a handful of others. The rest, as they say, is history.

Favorite Gaming moment ever?

My favorite gaming moment ever was beating Starfox911 on the old Xband in the original MarioKart. He was ranked #1 in the world and I put it on him with a power jump that knocked him off the track when I landed on him. It was sweet and the ONLY time I EVER beat him. A close second to that moment though is the release of Halo2. Afterall, it is the game that turned Xbox LIVE into what it is today is it not?

If you could be any one character from a video game who would it be and why?

Leasure Suit Larry, he gets layed more in one game than I do in a month AND he gets to drink martini’s the whole time. That’s just too cool. I hope that’s not showing my age too much, LOL. Being 34 isn’t really all that old now is it?
Ha ha ha i can remember being way too young playing LSL back in the day on PC.. I loved getting him wasted and trying to get it on with hookers! LMFAO!

Besides being found here at our forums what other organizations/teams do u belong too?

Besides being found in the CG forums I’m also the Overlord of the Caveboys and an active member at Bungie.net. B.net can be rather scarey if you’re not used to it and know where to go. I’ve signed up at other sites such as Loading Reality and such as well but I haven’t been too active over there, Sorry guys. I need to get my bones over to TTL as well before I get disowned by bsangel.

Yes.. my rule of thumb is never to piss off BS!!

How did The Caveboys start?

The Caveboys originally started as a support group of sorts. WAAAAAY back in the day when the Cavegirls were first asked to do a humpday challenge they had needed a name for the write up. I’m not sure how accurate I am here but I think Cayote combined two of her gamertags, Autumn Cavegirl and Cayote to form the Cayote Cavegirls. Our leader back then, Icarus, was joking with DonWan about it and, I suppose, got the idea to do it and made a Caveboy clan. I’m not clear as to EXACTLY how it all happened but needless to say we ended up keeping the name. To be dead honest with you, I never really liked our name and I still don’t. First reason, I don’t refer to myself as a boy but rather a guy or man. Secondly, I get a lot of wise cracks about it as though we were copying the name from the CG’s when that isn’t the case at all. Would I ever change it? No, I wouldn’t. I wouldn’t because we have a lot of members who are proud to be a CB. Except for a few, all of our members have been playing together for well over a year or even two. That kind of makes us a family and we treat each other as such. Just ask one of the guys.

Yes, i agree with the whole name thing sounding a little juvenile.. but whats weird is it doesn’t sound like that saying “Cavegirls” but “Caveboys” would make me think that you are all twelve if i didn’t know any better! I knew it had started a little more as a joke, but i never really got the full story until now

If you could have halo babies with any one Cavegirl who would it be?!

Halo babies? Never gave it much thought really. I suppose I’d have to pick bsangel. She’s already a Mom so I know she’d treat my youngins nice even if they looked like little grunts. LOL

Yes, I’d even do BS.. and i’m not gay!

But thank-you very much Strunky .. or should i say Steve?! LOL, For taking some time out to answer my questions and letting the forum readers get to know you a little better

This weekend some Bungie/MS fellas took on a unique challenge from some friends of ours. TheDonWan told us about a woman who’s studying women in gaming and that she would like to observe a gaming session where there were a decent amount of women. Since we routinely play some Thusday night Halo 2 in an MS building on the Redmond campus, we set up a Saturday session where we could do this. We didn’t intend for it to end up being a guys versus girls thing (especially since it was quite clear that the girls would toast us) but it sort of ended up that way due to a temporary reversion to childhood maturity levels.

Ladychix

We had three members of PMS and three members of the Cavegirls come out for the LAN.

Kitty- Former leader of PMS’ Bravo division
Sagacious- Current co-leader of PMS’ Bravo division (bloody coup)
Ragedoll- Member of PMS’ Bravo division
Cayote- Leader of the Cavegirls
FishEatNoodle- Member of the Cavegirls
TheDonWan- Admin/co-host/mod/member of too many things to remember

PMS members, Ragedoll and Sagacious.
Dudeguyz

We basically had a bunch of Bungie/MS dudes and a couple friends.

e- Xbox Live Operations Manager
Ninja 0n Fire- Bungie Matchmaking DJ
Leorex- Works on Microsoft Access. Once used Exel to figure out how much we all needed to pitch in for pizza. Yeah.
Sorahn- Currently working on the Zune project as a travelling salesman, going to lans and telling tales of its greatness.
Jeff- Works for ATI in Toronto, in town to see friends.
Matt- Local friend, Fuzion Frenzy 2 fiend.
KP- Jay Weinland’s Wii Bowling protégé.

e helps set up as FishEatNoodle enjoys a sugary, caffeinated beverage, because she obviously needs the energy.

 The Games

The games did end up being uneven, as the dudes had one more player than the gals. However, the fact that all of the girls regularly play Halo 2 (some of them competitively, even) made up for that fact, since Jeff had literally never played Halo 2 before that day (it’s as if he were living under a rock… or in Canadialand) and Matt pretty much never plays, either.

We kept an unofficial scoreboard of the event which tells the tale both in numbers and with explicit language which I had to expertly obscure from your vision. What ended up happening was the girls absolutely destroyed us in pretty much every slayer gametype. The first four games were atrocious, they slaughtered us. I wanted to rip the Xbox out of the wall and say that I had internet problems but it was a LAN and they’d probably see me hastily leaving with my 360 trailing wires behind me.

Uh… a glitch put a swear in my name. And the name of Jeff when I made his profile.
The slayer games were a few standard weapons games, a couple shotties games and a SWAT game. The standard weaps games were terrible, though with each game we improved our score a bit. The shotties games were equally bad for me, but e did pretty well with them. The SWAT game to 250, the final game of the night, was just salt in the wound. I did alright, with what would normally be an awesome score, but the girls had two players finish ahead of me, one of them was TheDonWan with about 150% of my score in what was the most beastly performance of the night. Even if we had won all of the games before that, I still would have walked away from the LAN ashamed because of the drubbing we received in that game.

TheDonWan caught in the act of lewd scoreboardery.

It wasn’t all bad, though, there were two slayer games which we took from the girls. One was a rockets game on Colossus, whatevs to that, but the other was Base Jumping, which is slayer with bonus points, primary weapon random, secondary BR, on Coagulation with light vehicles on. They argued that it didn’t count because Kari was idle for half the game, but Jeff went 0 – 24 so I think he more than balanced it. The final kills were awesome, e landing headshots with the sniper on two people in a row, each kill counting for three points (headshot, snipe and kill).

The tide turned as soon as we switched to objective gametypes, however. I don’t think it was due to the numbers, because really Jeff just ran at them shooting wildly and most of his kills were assassinations or grenades. I did actually see him four-shot TheDonWan as I was waiting to respawn, though. He’s got potential. We dominated the objective games with the same veracity with which they dominated the slayer games. It usually worked out so that I mostly worried about protecting or securing the objective, whatever it may have been, wit ma mad skeelz. Which is actually just an excuse for playing every game like it’s slayer. Whatever it was, it worked out, because we never lost an objective gametype.

The menfolk relax after another victorious objective game.

It was good times that night and everybody seemed to have a blast in the games. The games were fun and the people were all cool. I’m pretty sure that the lady collecting data got a lot of good material, especially her recordings of the girls’ team calling us explicit names and threatening us with violence to sensitive areas.

Lies.

The final scoreboard says that the girls won six games to our five, which I guess makes official the theory that girls rule and boys drool. What it also indicates, however, is that the girls were only proficient in the slayer gametypes, winning zero objective gametypes all night. One can only conclude, as derived from this data using science, that women are simply mindless killing machines hell-bent on spilling the blood of their enemies, while men are thoughtful, calculating thinkers who care to concoct strategy and put thought into their actions. It’s science.

I wanted to do another gamer/community feature. I was having a hard time deciding on whom I should do it on. That was until I was browsing my friend’s list one day and it hit me ..duh!.. GamerchiX! And who better to ask then the beautiful and talented PMS Kitty!! So I got a hold of her at an ungodly hour of the day for me and asked her a few questions while trying to keep my eyes open!

V: For those people who don’t actually know you, or at least know who you are… who are you and what do you do?!

K: Ok, Real name, Chloe Brown. Primary GT, PMS Kitty.

What I do? Let’s see, I’m an Xbox MVP, I work on the PMS Clan website, and I’m one of the three founders of the GamerchiX group on xbox.com

V: What’s an Xbox MVP all about?!

K: The MVP Award is a program Microsoft runs, which recognizes a person who has made an incredible contribution to the Xbox Community.

V: Oh awesome! I never even knew that existed!

V: What are some of your favorite games of all time?!

K: I pick and choose my games, Halo 2 is still in the top, and while I spend most of my time there, I do love games like Fable and Jade Empire. Lost weeks to both of those.

V: What is your favorite thing about gaming?

K: Favorite thing has to be the communities I’ve gotten to meet and be involved in. To make it short, it’s all about the people.

V: What is GamerchiX and how did this group start?

K: The GamerchiX started as simply a private section on the Xbox.com forums, a place where women gamers could come and hang out, meet others of like minds, to leave the ‘clan’ at the door and get to MEET the gamer behind the tag. It’s really a community, a network. In no way is it a clan. Though clans have been formed by some of the members, just as others have found a comfortable place in PMS, KSI or any other clan who has a representative in the group.

We welcome and support all gamers, competitive and casual, but we Do require that Drama gets left outside.

V: you answered that like you only said it once or twice!

K: (only a few )

V: Were there any difficulties starting this group?

K: Really, the only difficulties were originally time, and our ability to get things organized on our end. There Was some hesitation on the part of Trixie, Diva and myself as to WHEN to launch the group.

We officially launched in June, though we were working on it for at least a month longer than that, with any degree of seriousness, but just prior to that, the PMS Clan team had launched, and there was a huge amount of feedback of all kinds. We ultimately decided that it would actually benefit us to launch the group, because the group is purely organic. We don’t have official support, we don’t have a budget, we run this totally ourselves.

That doesn’t mean we aren’t keeping our options open though, or that we don’t have a few things already in the works…

V: What is your favorite thing about the forums?

K: One of the things I love is that there is no drama, lol.
There’s this huge group of incredibly different women, from all walks of life, from I think we’re up to 18 different countries now… and there is not a single one that thinks alike

V: With having a 1000+ members do you find it difficult to keep track of everyone or having anyone feeling lost in the crowd?

K: The worst are the gamertag changes, lol. We do our best. Trixie keeps everything in an excel document, and I keep having to redo our master lists (we’re onto our third version, I only did the second one less than a month ago!)
I admit that I know gamertags, but not chix..

It’s impossible to keep up the sheer number of posts and threads in a day.

V: Trust me I’ve seen with my own eyes and it is crazy at times!

V: What are the GamerchiX goals for the future?

K: Some of them, I can’t share unfortunately. Although, there WILL be what I hope will be a biiiiiiiiiig announcement in March.
We are hard at work on a website as well.

Dang.. I really want to know what all these secrets are but no kitty wont give it up!

V: Other than being a co-founder of the largest all-female group of gamers and part of the PMS Clan. What other goals or aspirations have you set for yourself and/or completed?

K: Let’s see, things I want to accomplish….

I defiantly want to stay in the Community, although I’m not quite sure what path that will ultimately take. Although I do have some ideas and hopes. I’ve gone back to school, for the first time in two and a half years, with an interesting Marketing. I’m loving my classes so far, but then again, I’m only into the first month!

V: That’s great!

V: And I have to ask… I ask everybody this!! If you could make Halo Babies with any one person who would it be and why?!

K: oh good god

I guess the ONLY logical answer, considering right now, is The Don Won

V: but who wouldn’t want to with The Don!?

K: Exactly!

V: Thank you so much for taking the time out or I should say between games and chats to talk with me and answer my questions! hehe!

Didn’t get enough from reading this interview?! For even more information about the group please check out the GamerchiX xbox page!
