Sarcastic Gamer is proud to announce Extra Life, a 24 hour gaming

marathon to fund pediatric cancer research and treatment.

We are challenging our community and other gaming communities to band together for something big! “My life has been permanently changed by kids battling cancer, and I want to do something amazing for them this fall,” says Doc Adams, Founder of Sarcastic Gamer.

On Saturday, October 18 Sarcastic Gamer will challenge gamers to play their favorite video games for 24 hours in order to raise money for one of the planet’s premier pediatric cancer and hematology centers, Texas Children’s Cancer Center (txccc.org).

We’re asking each gamer/hero to find four people to sponsor them at one dollar per hour for the duration.

Yesterday, we wrapped the intense Rock Band 4v4 event which had bands playing their hearts out to beat out each other’s scores. There were injuries, soreness, sweat, and tears, but one band stood out from all the others. Army of the Republic put up massive scores each round leaving everyone in the dust. Loading Reality put up a good early fight, trying to eliminate AoR from dominating, but came up short. Loading Reality did however, put up the highest scored song in the entire tournament, with a whopping 2,557,215 points on Welcome Home.

EDIT: Forgot about the Bronze Medal match scores! Green Grass and High Tides was one of The Cavegirl’s chosen songs, and PraetoriaGuard nailed it scoring an amazing 2,610,555points! Check out their video:

The Cavegirls’ chose Welcome Home for every round, turning out to be our best scoring song. Here is a video of us playing our song:

PraetoriaGuard and Tied The Leader proved to be excellent bands, but neither could take down AoR. Congratulations to AoR for dominating the tournament and taking home the gold. Here is a breakdown of the medals, congratulations to our winners!

This event has less action than previous events so there were a lot of byes and forfeits, but that still didn’t make winning the gold medal any easier. Fragolympics Leaderboards:

This week we wrap up two events in our Fragolympic adventure. The Guitar Hero 3 1v1 challenge and the Halo 3 FFA All Night Snipers. The all night sniper match lasted 8 hours starting from Saturday night going into the wee hours of Sunday. I heard there were many cramped hands, and a few people who couldn’t handle it to the end, but overall, people had a good time. After 8 hours of sniping, the gold medal came down to a difference of 4 points! We did something a little different for the sniper match, giving out bonus points for headshots, killing sprees, and sticks which made it an interesting match. With that, I would like to present the medals to the winners of the Halo 3 FFA All Night Sniper Match:

Up next, we have the results of the Guitar Hero 3 event. 9 guitarists battled it out, but only one came out as the true guitar hero. There were many close matches throughout the event, but the guitarist who knew how to use their star power wisely seemed to come out ahead. Check out bs angel’s blog entry about her guitar hero match to see just how close these matches really were.

Two players flew through the brackets losing only one song between them before meeting up to face off against each other in the finals. Here is a screen of the final match, played on expert:
