Taken From: Deadly Night - HBO LAN

Deadly Night

HBO LANs are the stuff of legend. I’ve been to plenty of LANs, all of them were a lot of fun and good times in general. But there’s nothing quite like an HBO LAN. You could drop me in a LAN party where everyone gets a 52” plasma screen, a Xenon with the latest Halo 3 MP build, an all-you-can-eat buffet that stretches a mile and an open bar, and it still wouldn’t compare with an HBO LAN. Actually, if someone sets that up, I’ll totally be there.

Primal Fear, Cavegirl of the Month for January ‘07!

I met with Cari at a local arcade. We played some games then took a walk along the boardwalk. Me with a Shirley Temple in hand, and her with I think some fruity malibu drink we sat down and had a chat.

Child’s Play Charity Dinner

Child’s Play is a charity organization run by the Penny Arcade guys. As with every successful venture, it was originally founded to settle a grudge. To date, Child’s Play has raised well over a million dollars in toys and cash. Last night they hosted their charity dinner, for which the main feature is the auction that raises an absurd amount of money.

So here at The Cavegirl forums we had decided it would be fun and interesting to feature members of our community so that we could all get to know each other a little better. With some discussion it was an easy choice to decide upon Tortacular! He’s a member of the TTL Gunslingers (a fellow Canadian as I may gloat) and has a reputation of being a great person to play with and to talk too.

This week Bungie almost failed to recruit enough players for the Humpday yet again, but luckily we found a way to get enough players and met the fellows over at Hollywood Halo.

Penny Arcade Expo!
Posted by KPaul at 8/28/2006 4:20 PM PDT

Friday, Saturday and Sunday were dominated by PAX out here in Bungieland. PAX is a gaming “festival”, in their words. There were a ton of events going down all weekend, you could go to them all and never feel like they were getting repetitive. There were all sorts of games on display from video games, tabletop games to role playing games. Along with the displays in the exhibition hall there were many panels , of particular relevance to Bungie fans were one in which Frankie participated and another which the RvB guys hosted. Of course Tycho and Gabe (Penny Arcade’s founding fathers) participated in a few panels of their own. They even had various tournaments running the entire time (including Halo 2) and musical concerts on Friday and Saturday night.

Welcome to the Date Night summary, outline shamelessly ripped from the depths of Bungie’s Life & Style section. Last Saturday, while not exactly a raging success (more like an issue-ridden not-dry run that should have been a dry run), did offer enough fun for a write-up and ensuing events. We had two rooms, the Shoulda-Been-Drunks (and shoulda-played-earliers) and the Drunks. While not everyone was a goner in the second room, enough were to amuse the rest into submission.

Humpday: Cavegirls

A lot of you Bungie.net regulars are at least familiar with the Cayote Cavegirls group. For the uninitiated, however, Frankie sat down over the interzone/webernets with the leader of the Cavegirls, Cayote, to better aquaint you with the group.
